Brody Melton and Adam Hajdak Named NACSB National Players of the Week
SANFORD, Fla.- Throughout the 2026 season, the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball will honor two players at the conclusion of each week, a National Player and Pitcher of the Week. Players are nominated for the award by earning their league's Player or Pitcher of the Week award. This week's honors represent performances from the start of the season through Saturday, June 7. The weekly honors are selected via a vote of league officials from around the Alliance.
The first NACSB National Player of the Week was awarded to Brody Melton (Milligan) of the Staunton Braves out of the Valley Baseball League. In the first eight games of the season for the Braves, Melton bashed five home runs, including ending the week with home runs in four consecutive contests. The outfielder was responsible for at least one run in five of the team's eight games, helping Staunton to a 5-3 start.
Melton's signature game came in a wild 25-15 victory over the Harrisonburg Turks on Saturday. The Tullahoma, Tennessee native went 5-for-6 with two home runs and nine runs batted in. Melton drove in five runs in a single inning, hitting both a three-run homer and a two-run single as part of a 15-run second inning for the Braves. He also added another three-run home run in the sixth inning.
The first National Pitcher of the Week, as chosen by the NACSB, was Adam Hajdak (Millersville) of the Genesee Rapids from the New York Collegiate Baseball League. Hajdak was responsible for one of the most dominant outings in the nation, leading the Rapids to a 9-2 victory over the Dansville Gliders on Friday.
The Blue Bell, Pennsylvania native tossed seven innings, striking out 16 of the 25 Dansville hitters he faced. He allowed just two hits and a single unearned run, with just one hitter reaching base via a free pass. Hajdak picked up the win for the Rapids, who currently hold the best record in the NYCBL with a 5-1 mark.
Additionally, the Alliance honors the players from around the nation that were nominated for this week's award.

The National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB) is an alliance of twelve college summer leagues that are partially funded by Major League Baseball. Each league and all of their teams are non-profit organizations that support the highest level of collegiate players in their journey to play professional baseball. Members work closely with college baseball programs to ensure player development and eligibility during summer months while maintaining policies that keep player health paramount. This is evidenced by the Alliance's early adoption of the MLB Pitch Smart policy and maintaining a reasonable number of games played across each league. Over 4,000 players choose NACSB leagues each summer with hundreds getting their name called in the MLB draft each year. Member league information can be found on NACSB.ORG.
