NACSB National Players of the Week - July 22, 2026
SANFORD, Fla.- Throughout the 2026 season, the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball will honor two players at the conclusion of each week, a National Player and Pitcher of the Week. Players are nominated for the award by earning their league's Player or Pitcher of the Week award. This week's honors represent performances through Sunday, July 19. The weekly honors are selected via a vote of league officials from around the Alliance.
The newest NACSB National Player of the Week is Luke Rizzo (College of Wooster), playing this summer for the Sherrill Silversmiths of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. Rizzo belted five home runs on the week, including two each in games against the Rochester Ridgemen and Watertown Rapids. He had four games of three or more runs batted in, finishing with 18 RBIs on the week.
Rizzo's red-hot week vaulted him into third place in the NYCBL in home runs with six. He ends his summer with the Silversmiths hitting .316 with a .600 slugging percentage, adding nine doubles to his six home runs. Rizzo also is second in the NYCBL in runs batted in, driving in 34 runs to help Sherrill to a spot in the NYCBL East Division Wild Card Game.
The National Pitcher of the Week, representing the Lima Locos of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, is Adam Guillet (Louisiana Tech). Guillet threw a one-hit shutout in a seven-inning complete game during an 21-0 win over the Grand Lake Mariners on July 14. Guillet needed just 76 pitches notching 10 strikeouts as the Locos snapped the Mariners 18-game winning streak. He only allowed two base runners in the first game of a double header sweep that night by the Locos.
Guillet was making his first start of the season after seven relief appearances primarily in the role as the Locos closer recording two saves. For the season, Guillet boasts a 1.10 ERA in 16.1 innings of work giving up just two earned runs on just six hits. He has 23 strikeouts, 12.67 per nine innings ratio, and nine walks.

The National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB) is an alliance of twelve college summer leagues that are partially funded by Major League Baseball. Each league and all of their teams are non-profit organizations that support the highest level of collegiate players in their journey to play professional baseball. Members work closely with college baseball programs to ensure player development and eligibility during summer months while maintaining policies that keep player health paramount. This is evidenced by the Alliance's early adoption of the MLB Pitch Smart policy and maintaining a reasonable number of games played across each league.
